Curves are imprinted in our subconscious together with archetypal figures of fertility, motherhood and the female form. Stripped of the bodies that carry them, the same curves expand in space, creating cocoons of protection and desire.
This work therefore explores the notions of femininity, motherhood and sexuality. The body is the primal figure: soft, round and full of creases, cavities, nipples and hair. Serving as a container, as a feeding machine or a sexual object, the female body is interpreted as mysterious, erotic, fragile or even aggressive.
The pieces of this project attempt to reflect these qualities: the objects themselves resemble body parts to be possibly worn - in a strangely familiar, humorous or sometimes threatening way.
